Williams Software Associates Corp has released its new SmarTrack Shot Counter. The shot counter allows you to mount a small device on any weapon system and track the rounds fired from the device. This is a Firm Fixed Price IDIQ contract for Commercial AIT hardware, software, and services. The contract has a ceiling value of $418.52 million. The term of the contract is nine years consisting of a three-year base period; and one two-year option for ordering products, services and maintenance; and one four-year option for maintenance only. In addition, the AIT-IV program will offer site surveys, installation, integration, implementation and training for turn-key AIT solutions to DoD, US Coast Guard, NATO, Federal Agencies, Coalition Partners, and other Foreign Military Sales (FMS). SOLE Honors Two PM J-AIT 2008 Logistics Award Winners using the SmarTrack digital arms room system product for Sensitive Items Tracking and Asset Management at Ft Carson, Colorado.

The US Army Product Manager for Joint-Automatic Identification Technology (PM J-AIT), a part of the Program Executive Office, Enterprise Information Systems (PEO EIS) at Fort Belvoir, VA, is pleased to announce two PM J-AIT nominees received the 2008 International Society of Logistics (SOLE) awards. Ms. Marie Finley and Mr. Paul Krumhaus were honored at an awards luncheon held at the Fort Myer Officer’s Club on 29 October.

Lt. Col. Pat Burden, PM J-AIT, stated: “The strong leadership and dedication of Ms. Finley and Mr. Krumhaus have made major contributions to the field of logistics and advancement in Item Unique Identification Technology (IUID). We are proud of their significant accomplishments and dedication to our program and the industry.”

Ms. Marie Finley’s valuable contributions toward identifying and procuring a Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) solution ensured the successful implementation of the Army’s Small Arms Use Case Demonstration. Her logistics knowledge, acquisition expertise, and skillful coordination within the acquisition community were responsible for allowing the purchase of the COTS digital arms room system within a short period of time, making possible the on-time completion of the demonstration.

Mr. Paul Krumhaus, a two-time SOLE award recipient, was recognized for his leadership and focused determination in developing and implementing a Small Arms Use Case demonstrating how IUID can be used in an arms room to improve property accountability and reduce the time required to conduct issue, receipt, and inventory transactions. Mr. Krumhaus was solely responsible for pulling together the necessary stakeholders and ensuring all phases of the Use Case were successfully implemented. Mr. Krumhaus’ outstanding efforts to facilitate the integration of IUID data into digital arms room business processes resulted in a 50% reduction in the time required to perform a 100% arms room inventory.

Williams Software Associates Corporation, a disabled veteran owned custom software design firm proudly announces the release of its premiere product, SMARTRACK – Digital Arms Room.

SMARTRACK is a fully automated Armory Management system that integrates hardware, software, and a database-management system specifically to manage and track arsenal equipment in armories within the U.S. Armed Forces.

The fully integrated Digital Arms Room System is specifically designed to comply with Government and Military Arms Room Operations and DOD FIPS 140-2 Security Specifications. The system is fully functional in a stand-alone environment for either a field or base deployment. The Digital Arms Room is capable of tracking and managing an unlimited variety of weapons and weapons- related equipment, including real time information on individual weapon life cycle and maintenance states, and the duty assignments, team composition, training, and qualification of the soldiers to whom the weapons are assigned.

The SMARTRACK components are architected using Object Oriented Software Design Methodology to create a ‘Virtual Armory’ integrated into specifically designed independent relational database for governing and managing the collection, storage and retrieval of transactional weapons-related information, maintenance history, ammunition rounds fired and more. The design intent was to focus on organizing accurate information and dramatically increasing the efficiency of processing weapons and personnel without changing the operational military requirements. The software interface requires minimal free hand typing and users select information from provided lists of choices that are fully defined in the system.

The SMARTRACK System is a built around a ruggedized laptop that can be rapidly deployed as an armory management workstation for field or base deployment anywhere in the world. The hardware system is composed of the following fully integrated components:
